Anna Presler

Violinist Anna Presler is appreciated by Bay Area audiences for her performances of new and old chamber music: “Presler joined with the composer to play the mesmerizing piece with a devotion and loving lyricism rarely heard in contemporary music.” (San Francisco Classical Voice) and “”They ended the programme with an effusive, exploratory reading of the Schumann Op.47 piano quartet, proving that intelligent music-making is, indeed, timeless. ” (Financial Times of London.) A longtime member of the Left Coast Chamber Ensemble and its artistic director, is Associate Professor at Sacramento State’s School of Music. She was a member of the Grammy-nominated New Century Chamber Orchestra for two decades, and has been a fellow at the Banff Art Center, the International Music Seminar at Cornwall, and the Tanglewood Music Center––where her chamber music coaches included Eugene Lehner, Gil Kalish, and Julius Levine. She studied at Yale University, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and North Carolina School of the Arts.
