The Diablo Symphony Association usually holds its fantastic Gala fundraiser at Rossmoor during the Spring of every concert season. As you know, the 2019-2020 Gala scheduled for April 25, 2020 was unfortunately cancelled due to the pandemic. We’re happy to report, however, that the Association’s board has made it possible to hold the 2019-2020 Gala’s traditional auction virtually through a special online auction being held September 19-26. Although we can’t come together for the usual dinner, wine, visiting and exuberant bidding, this special auction provides a fun opportunity to raise funds needed to ensure a healthy future for our terrific community orchestra.
The auction is being held on the website www.biddingforgood.com/diablosymphony/ (or bforg.com/diablosymphony for mobile devices) and all are invited to visit the site to register as a bidder, either before or after the auction goes “live” at 8:00 am on Saturday morning, September 19 (you don’t need to provide credit card information when registering). If the above link doesn’t work for you either before or during the auction, you can go to www.biddingforgood.com for pre-auction registration and then use this general URL on the 19 th to access the auction by searching for “Diablo Symphony” in the search box. You will then be able to view all auction items and will be able to begin bidding if registered. You can return to the site as often as you wish to check on and change your bids, or place new bids, until bidding closes at 11:30 pm on September 26.
At previous fundraisers, attendees have purchased dinner and drinks, and perhaps made monetary donations through the traditional “paddle raise”. If you would consider donating the price of the dinner and money donations you might have made during the live Gala event, please send your donation directly to the symphony at Diablo Symphony Association, P.O.Box 2222, Walnut Creek, 94595 (please indicate Gala donation on the check), or go directly to the website to pay by credit card.
We are so grateful for the support you give the orchestra and its activities. Fundraising dollars greatly help the orchestra reach and uphold its mission “to perform classical music, provide educational programs, and offer performing opportunities to local musicians, thus enriching the lives and cultural climate of our community”. We thank you in advance for supporting this new auction adventure!
