2021-22 Concert Season

Season Highlights at the Lesher: The Light That Fills the World

It is with so many emotions that we start returning to live music-making and live performances to share with real live audiences. We are so grateful to be able to share a season with you once more in our beautiful Lesher Center for the Arts. Our first concert is a kind of thanksgiving for this return to live music, from “Amazing Grace” to Dvorak’s uplifting symphony.

Our season title, “The Light That Fills the World,” reminds me of the incredible beauty and inner strength of the natural world and the humans that live in it. It is also the title of a mesmerizing work we will be performing in our “Sounds of the Americas” concert, a piece inspired more specifically by the light in far-northern Alaska.

Please also join us for three fun and uplifting programs celebrating the holidays, family, and Mother’s Day. We are particularly excited to present the third symphony of African-American composer Florence Price to celebrate all hard-working mothers. In addition, we will celebrate young talent this season by presenting not just one, but three, winners of our Yen Liang Young Artist Competition!
