Conductor’s Corner – May 7, 2020

We all truly miss making music — with each other, and for you our audience, who enable the magic of live music to happen.

We would love to stay connected with you, our wider Diablo Symphony family, and to this end musicians from the DSO are making music videos to share. We will be sending out regular news and music updates — so do look out for our DSO communications! You can also always find us on Facebook.

I hope you enjoy the videos below. We are also instituting a “Get to know your DSO”, with a series of musician profiles. Today, we feature Susan Clark, principal flute.

Big Day of Giving

Today is also the Big Day of Giving, and I encourage you to think about donating to the DSO. Your support will mean so much to us, and help us get through this challenging time. Donations can be made by clicking here.

Music for you!

Piano soloist Randall Benway and principal clarinet, Mary Ferrier: Cuckoo from Saint-Saens “Carnival of the Animals” (this is the first in a series from our postponed Family concert, so watch out for more!).

Co-principal 2nd violin, Laurie Carlson playing “Morgen” (morning) by Richard Strauss.

Conductor, getting back into practicing the viola! Bach prelude from Cello Suite No. 2.
