Open to soloists born after March 26, 1988 (i.e. less than 23 years old). An applicant may not be employed full time as a professional musician. Documentation of age and/or employment may be required at the discretion of the coordinator. |

Applicants must submit a CD of 8 - 10 minutes each from contrasting movements of a concerto for possible selection to compete on January 8, 2011. |

Send the $25 application fee, the completed application form, CD, and a stamped self-addressed envelope (for return of the CD, if desired) to the competition coordinator. |

|
The application and CD must be postmarked by November 15, 2010. |
|
|
|
CDs will be reviewed to determine which applicants qualify for the competition. Competition acceptance will be announced by November 29, 2010. A scheduled time for each contestant and map of the route to the competition site will be mailed at that time. |

|
A warm up room will be available for all contestants. Also, each contestant will provide, if needed, his/her own accompanist. At the competition the music must be performed from memory and be a minimum of 15 minutes in length. |

|
First Prize: $1000 Honorarium and a contract to perform a previously auditioned composition in concert with the Diablo Symphony Orchestra on March 25, 2011 at Del Valle Club House in Rossmoor and March 26, 2011 at the Dean Lesher Regional Center for the Arts, Walnut Creek CA.
Second Prize: $500 and an award plaque.

Contestants are encouraged to invite friends and relatives to the competition. No one may enter or leave during performances. |
